September 2026. The company will carry out recovery works at the future Brasil, José Miguel Infante, and Salvador Gutiérrez stations, located in the municipalities of Renca and Cerro Navia. EISA has previously participated in works on Lines 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the Santiago Metro network and expects to take part in future projects.
The contract includes works extending toward the tail tracks, the enlargement of a shaft, construction of the José Miguel Infante station tunnel, a connecting tunnel to the maintenance facilities, and the interstation tunnels that will connect Salvador Gutiérrez with the following station.
As part of the project, the company will complete sections of the interstation tunnels using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM), an area in which Echeverría Izquierdo Ingeniería y Construcción S.A. has extensive experience, having previously constructed approximately 13 kilometres of tunnels using this method on Metro Lines 3 and 6.
One of the project’s main technical challenges is concentrated at José Miguel Infante station, where the segmental lining of the tunnel already excavated by the tunnel boring machine will need to be demolished—after being properly reinforced—in order to enlarge the tunnel section and enable construction of the future station.
